Best 10PLUS Road Wheels: T Series vs E Series
The easiest way to choose a 10PLUS road wheelset: decide whether value or the premium build matters more, then pick your rim depth.
The short answer
If you want maximum value, buy the Road T Series. If you want the lighter premium build, ceramic bearings and quicker engagement, buy the Road E Series.
For most riders buying one road wheelset, 50mm is the place to start. Go 38mm for climbing and mixed terrain, or deeper if fast, open roads make up most of your riding.
10PLUS Road T Series: best value
The T Series combines a 36T star-ratchet hub, steel bearings and Pillar 1423 spokes, in 38, 50 or 60mm depths. It's the model with the strongest independent long-term evidence, including a 2,000km test with no structural issues reported.
One caveat is worth taking seriously: an independent teardown found inconsistent spoke tension. A true-and-tension check is recommended before the first hard ride.
10PLUS Road E Series: best premium choice
The E Series moves to ceramic bearings, a 45T ratchet and a lighter build. It's the obvious choice for riders who care about weight and premium hub hardware.
The trade-off is price: around $100 more than the T Series for ceramic bearings, 45T engagement and the lower weight.
Which depth should you choose?
38mm: climbing and mixed terrain. 50mm: best all-rounder. 60mm: fast, flatter riding where a deeper rim makes sense.
If you're unsure, 50mm is the easy answer.
The pick
For value: Road T Series 50mm. For premium: Road E Series 50mm. For climbing: T Series 38mm.
