10PLUS E Series Review: Is the Premium Wheelset Worth It?
Ceramic bearings, 45T engagement and lower weight make the E Series tempting. The real question is whether you need them.
What you get
The E Series is 10PLUS's premium tier: ceramic bearings, a 45T star-ratchet hub and a lighter wheel build. Road depths are 40/50/65mm; gravel is 38/45mm.
The result is a wheelset aimed more at performance-focused riders than pure value shoppers.
The 45T difference
The 45T ratchet engages in about 8 degrees, against about 10 degrees for the 36T T Series. That means less crank movement before the hub picks up.
You'll notice it most when accelerating repeatedly, sprinting out of corners or riding technical terrain. It doesn't create extra watts.
The weight argument
The E Series is lighter than the T Series at every depth — the exact figure for each depth is listed on its product page.
That's a meaningful upgrade for riders who care about rotating weight, but not necessarily the best use of money for every endurance rider.
Verdict
Buy the E Series if the premium hardware is something you actually want. Otherwise, keep the money and buy the T Series.
